Resolving Pain

Strategically Resolving and Eliminating Pain:

Pain is a major motivator for people to seek help with their body, and pretty much everyone coming to my Practice is already experiencing mild to severe levels of pain.

Pain takes many forms and occurs for many different reasons, including:

  • Accidents and injuries beyond our control
  • Surgeries and medical interventions and their longer term effects
  • Disorganised body posture and movement creating unbalanced wear and tear
  • Repetitive and destructive movement in sports and fitness, and specialised activities
  • Sedentary work and life styles that generate strong holding patterns and restrict natural movement
  • Stress and trauma that affect mind and self and generate compromised postures and body use
  • Some or many of the above, creating accelerated ageing and dis-integration of the moving body and mind

The actual feeling of pain seems to NOT come from the area of the body of concern, but is largely a construct of the brain as it responds to signals coming from the affected area. Over time as pain becomes chronic this become more like a continuous process of “pain-ing” on high-rotate. This “pain-ing” has the effect of over-protecting us, so we start to limit our physical activities and rages of motion, restricting quality of life.

Whether pain is recent or long term, mild or acute or chronic pain, I am always looking far beyond just relieving pain symptoms. The critical issues requiring attention are often NOT where the pain is, so we will evaluate then reorganise your moving body structure accordingly with you to reduce and even eliminate pain.

There are many aspects of pain that ARE within our control, and we can enable you to stop generating painful symptoms through any destructive holding patterns and movement habits of your own. Life improves radically when pain ceases to be a major limiting factor.
